Administration Building

The colonnade across the front of this house-like building spells out its “official administration” function. The style here is Colonial Revival, an adaptation of 17th and 18th century, eastern U.S. homes. This style was popular for residences in the 1920s and 30s. J. Edwin Kopf and Deery were the architects for a 1927 remodeling of this building – it is possible that one of the original 1890s fair buildings survives under the 1920s brick. The Fair Commission recently rehabbed the building, including restoration of several of the original entryways, and restoration of the flagpoles along the roofline balustrade.
